The Elcometer 4280 combines the Elcometer 4260 NYPC Levelling Test with the Sag Test of the Elcometer 4270.

This stainless steel film applicator has 4 spreading edges in the form of a straight scraper each with 4, 6 or 10 adjacent notches (depending on the model) of variable depth.

 

This standard test for dynamic viscosity measurements is now faster and more accurate by use of new high precision microprocessor controls. As most viscosity measurements are highly temperature sensitive, the samples are placed on a temperature controlled plate which can be set from 5 to 65°C. 

Special film applicator with dual function. One side with 10 gaps from 75 to 300 micron to test the tendency to sag in relation to the film thickness. At the counter side 5 pairs of notches of increasing depth are made to create sets of two film stripes. The merging of the stripes can be evaluated to define the leveling ability. The high-grade stainless steel will not be affected by acid or base elements. 

These oils are suitable for the calibration of all flow cups and rotational viscometers. Each oil is supplied with a calibration certificate traceable to national standards.
