Standard test for measuring the hardness of coatings. Complies with ISO2815-2003 standard. The set consists of a calibrated slip-on weight with a special cutter, an illuminated microscope, a level gauge, a digital dual timer, and a marker with template. The calibrated slip-on weight with special cutter is positioned on the test specimen for a set period of time. The length of the indentation left on the coating is an indication of the hardness of the surface.

Bend test for determining the elasticity or coatings in accordance with ISO1519. A test panel (format 50 X 100 mm) is bent over a cylindrical mandrel. The smaller the diameter of the mandrel, the greater the tension on the coating. The test panel is then checked for cracks or damage. Mandatory test in Qualicoat, QIB and GSB accredited laboratories.

Simple to operate, this portable instrument can test materials up to 1/2" thick by 4" square or round. Before mounting specimens on the Taber® Shear / Scratch Tester, the height of the scale beam is adjusted to match the thickness of your sample. A precision cutting tool, which is attached to a balanced and calibrated scale beam, is then placed on the specimen. Operated by an on/off switch, the turntable rotates at a constant speed to ensure greater accuracy in your test results. By changing the load on the cutting tool, you can evaluate your materials resistance to shearing or scratching.

The Pendulum Hardness Tester has a lot of unique features that ease defining hardness by the König and/or Persoz method as described in ISO 1522. Both methods work on the principle that the damping time of a pendulum oscillating on a sample indicates the hardness. The instrument has an easy menu-driven single button interface. The automated electronic counting mechanism is not affected by reflections from the surrounding area. The water-level is located on the test specimen, rather than on the instrument’s base. Once the instrument is leveled further calibration is not required. The gas-spring supported transparent draft cover allows easy access to all parts of the instrument.

The TABER® Rotary Platform Abraser (Abrader) was developed to perform accelerated wear testing. First introduced in the 1930's, this precision built instrument rapidly became the world standard for evaluating abrasion resistance. Since its inception, the Taber Abraser has been used for quality & process control, research & development and material evaluation. Used to test a wide spectrum of materials, the abraser (abrader) has been referenced in numerous standards and specifications and is frequently called a Rotary Platform Dual (Double) Head Tester.
